Ocean Rafting is dedicated to both preserving the Great Barrier Reef and supporting our tourism industry and therefore actively participates and contributes to the following organisations:

Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA)

The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park was created to protect and preserve the largest and richest system of coral reefs in the world. It incorporates most of Australia's north-eastern continental shelf, including the Whitsunday islands and their magnificent fringing reefs. Ocean Rafting visits the marine park on our daily tours and each passenger pays an entry fee which is included in the price of their fare.

Eye On The Reef Program

Ocean Rafting participates in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority study, “Eye on the Reef “program. This monitoring program is the largest of its kind and relies on a strong relationship between The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, marine tourism operators such as ourselves and the reef research community. It is an ongoing exercise in collecting and documenting marine life, water temperatures and coral health.

T-QUAL Accreditation

T-QUAL Accreditation is the Australian Government's partnership with quality tourism accreditation, rating and certification programs. Its logo, the T-QUAL Tick, is a symbol that identifies quality tourism businesses and operators in Australia.  T-QUAL Accreditation helps you to make more informed choices by identifying Australia's quality tourism products and services so that you can:

• Trust consistently high standards will deliver quality experiences;
• Gain value for money in your chosen price range;
• Relax, knowing that you will be taken care of.

Ecotourism Australia Eco Certified and Climate Change Innovator

Ocean Rafting received Eco Certified Accreditation in 2000 and was one of the first nationally accredited companies in the Whitsundays. Climate Action Innovator was recently added to Ocean Rafting’s Eco Certification assuring that Ocean Rafting measures and monitors its carbon footprint.

Green Travel Leader

Ocean Rafting is one of only three Green Travel leaders based in the Whitsundays.  Ecotourism Australia recognised over 40 Australian tourism operators who have been Eco Certified for 10 years or more as Green Travel Leaders.

Whitsunday Charter Boat Industry Association

The WCBIA represents members operating a multi-million dollar charter boat tourism industry within the Whitsunday region of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. The WCBIA Inc is a member of the industry peak body, The Association of Marine Park Tourism Operators (AMPTO). The WCBIA collaborates with local, state and federal government agencies, as well as other key stakeholders to ensure we as operators produce a high standard of Best Practice principles. Ocean Rafting is also a member of the WCBIA Climate Change and Sustainability committee whose key goal is to reduce the marine tourism industry's carbon footprint.

Marine Safe Certification

In conjunction with Ecotourism Australia, WCBIA and MSQ, Ocean Rafting was one of only six operators who took the Marine Safe Education pilot project and are now Marine Safe Certified.

Tourism Whitsundays

Tourism Whitsundays is the peak marketing body for the promotion of the Whitsundays and Ocean Rafting is a proud member, regularly supporting destinational marketing activities.

Tourism Queensland

Ocean Rafting proactively works with Tourism Queensland on many campaigns and marketing initiatives for the successful promotion of Queensland.

Tourism Australia

Tourism Australia proudly promotes Australia to the world, showcasing our beautiful country and its natural wonders including the Great Barrier Reef.

Backpacking Queensland

Queensland offers a multitude of activities and accommodation options for backpackers and Ocean Rafting is a member of this organisation, which offers a wealth of information for any backpacker planning their Queensland experience.

Queensland Tourism Industry Council

This Queensland tourism body is a not for profit membership organisation representing members' interests – both large and small.

Australian Tourism Export Council

ATEC Australian Tourism Export Council represents the Australian inbound tourism industry.
